Yep, as I’ve mentioned in a few other places, my first Hoshicon was also the first con in about two years where I didn’t have ANYTHING to do. I was completely free to just run around and do convention stuff. And man, if you’ve been reading my last few updates, you know that I was REALLY running out of ways to draw myself sitting in Artist Alley.

(Historical Notes: I devoted two whole pages of the Patreon comics to this, but since I dunno when those will be re-posted on this site, I’ll go ahead and tell this story here.  not only did I not have anything to DO at the con, I didn’t even have anybody to drive down with.  I made the whole trek to Charlotte all by myself, and since I didn’t really have anything to be late for, or to make anyone ELSE late for, I took the scenic route.  I ditched the Interstate to avoid a traffic jam and wound up taking the long way around Uwharrie National Forest, which actually took longer than sitting in the traffic jam would have but was a MILLION times more peaceful.  After burning myself out bad trying to “do” conventions for so long, it was amazing how much better it felt to just be out and about on my own for a weekend where a convention just happened to also be going on.)
