Conventional Wisdom

If you’ve read Conventional Wisdom before, and are just now coming back to see what’s up, you’ve probably already noticed that something seems… amiss. Heck, for a long time, ANYONE checking this site would have noticed something really strange. As in, a massive decade-long gap in the page archive. That’s because this comic ran on SmackJeeves for years and years… before SmackJeeves ceased to be a thing any more. I had to set up this new site in a REAL hurry, and I wound up spending an embarrassingly long time posting brand new content here, then going back when I had free time and re-posting the backlog of old stuff incrementally. This page you’re looking at right now BEGAN as an explanation as to why years of the comic’s history seemed to have vanished, including a link back to the old SmackJeeves site while it still functioned. Of course, these days I’ve FINALLY finished restoring the old backlog of Conventional Wisdom and it’s all here.

…SORT OF. See, there’s a few problems. The first one, which you’ll notice if you do an archive binge, is that I may have saved all the old COMICS, but not all the old COMMENTARY. So there’s a number of pages where I can only provide my later-day interpretation of what Past Me was thinking. Not much I can do about that. However, there’s also the problem that, actually, there’s still a lot of Conventional Wisdom that’s NOT on the website yet. There’s still years of bonus Patron material that I USED to have mirrored on a branch of the SmackJeeves site, just to get people excited about paying money to go see the new stuff… but it all exists exclusively on Patreon again due to me not remaking that part of the site yet. And that’s not just convention comics, either. I’ve cranked out a MASSIVE amount of anime reaction comics all over the web for years and years now. It’s all stuff that I’ve always INTENDED to re-post here as a sort of master archive of all my stuff… but I just never get around to actually doing any of that.

So, in the meantime, you can browse all the various outlets where I’ve posted this stuff over the years (Twitter / tumblr / Instagram / Facebook / Bluesky / deviantArt) to see just how much stuff ISN’T on this site just yet, and also blitzthecomicguy.com in case I ever get around to using that for any major announcements.

In the meantime, sorry about all the messy confusion! Hopefully everything will be straightened out one day!
