So, I don’t like drawing caricatures of actual people, at least not in a way that looks roughly realistic. I also don’t like trying to draw muscular physiques. And I REALLY don’t like trying to draw up from a low angle. Why I decided to do ALL these things at once is beyond me.
Anyway, if you weren’t at Opening Ceremonies, yes. This happened.
If you have no idea what I’m talking about, meet The Ice Cold Water Guy. He’s a particularly popular street vendor at Otakon (and, apparently, other Baltimore events), enough so that they brought him up to kick off Opening Ceremonies. Clearly, he’s survived the senseless violence against coolness.
(Historical Notes: Past Me is being very polite by not mentioning how awkward and painfully drawn out this bit was. I’m sure it sounded a lot cooler when somebody jokingly suggested it on a staff group chat or whatever.)
