Otakon 2011 – page 1
Yeah… this sucked. I’d never tried traveling to a con by train before this, and now that I have, I know never to try again. I mean, maybe if you never ever cosplay and totally avoid buying anything it’d be okay… but I’ll never be able to fathom people like that.
So, yeah, I ended up getting to Baltimore several hours late because I needed to wait on my roommate to come down to Union Station and take my guitar back… which also screwed up several of my costumes. Yeah, not a fun afternoon.
(Historical Notes: Another warning sign that I’d severely misjudged the whole “living in DC will make getting to DC-area cons easier” plan. I’m sure the web of public transportation is incredibly useful to the specific group of people who only ever need to use in the specific ways and specific times that the designers intended it to be used, but all us wierdos doing weird stuff in weird ways are MUCH better off fending for ourselves in our own vehicles. …which, of course, I couldn’t do because I didn’t HAVE a vehicle in DC.)
