This probably needed an extra panel to properly depict the gradual emptying of the train. But hey, anyone reading Conventional Wisdom for the detailed draftsmanship really needs to share whatever it is their smoking.

Seriously, though, the train was full when we left Union Station, and there were maybe two people in my car by the time we reached Baltimore. It’s a good thing there wasn’t a window by my seat, watching the landscape change as well as the more cautious people bailing out might have make me feel like this was a bad idea.

(Historical Notes: I’m being rather unfair here, obviously.  This wasn’t one of the Metro lines, but a special Amtrak line between Union Station and Camden Yards; one that rather obviously didn’t serve much purpose outside of weekday work hours.  Since I was taking one of the later trains of the day, of COURSE there weren’t many people left.  Heck, this train didn’t even run at all over the weekend… but that’s something you’ll hear more about later.)
