See, THIS is why running around and doing stuff is better than waiting in line all night for a celebrity meet up: not only do you get to have more fun, but you end up using the restroom next to the very people you were hoping to meet anyway! Surely that’s a universally applicable moral!
I mean, sure, I didn’t succeed in my mission to get more autographs on Servo, but whatever. This makes a way better punchline than “and then the thing I waited in line for… happened”. And let’s face it, any event that involves a bathroom is inherently funnier than one that doesn’t. That’s just science.
…of course, it’s also a WAY more awkward comic to try and promote. I mean, how exactly do you tweet “Hey, look at this comic I drew about the time I met you guys in the bathroom!” and avoid sounding like the biggest creeper ever? (ESPECIALLY seeing how, the day before this comic was posted, that one Grumpcade with the note under the door came out. I mean… GEEZ)
(Historical Notes: I think these are some of the best Real People Caricatures I’ve done in the comic, no doubt helped by the fact that people had already been doing caricatures of these guys for AGES that I could draw inspiration from.)
