Conventional Wisdom

(Historical Notes: Okay, HERE’S one where I really do need Past Me’s commentary to understand what’s going on.  I’ve gone on at length in previous comics how Anime USA’s Opening Ceremonies are much more elaborate and theatrical than at most cons, but I don’t have the foggiest notion what the theme this year was.  Or, more to the point, the memories I DO have are all blurred together with the ones from previous years, to the point that I couldn’t separate them without some outside help.  I think it MIGHT have been some kind of talk show gimmick, but I really can’t be sure at this point.  Anybody out there have a clearer memory than me?)
