(Historical Notes: I tell ya, every time I think the convention scene has run out of random weirdness to throw at me, something like this happens.  For all the wonky things I’ve seen at panels over the years, I can honestly say this was the first time I’d ever been in a panel that had to evacuate because something in the room was burning.  Yes, I’ve had fire ALARMS go off plenty of times, but this was genuinely the first time I ever saw any actual smoke.  And the best part?  I NEVER HEARD A SINGLE ALARM DURING THIS WHOLE INCIDENT.

Oh, and just for the record, I believe Kurt said the “fire” turned out to be some plastic that had wound up on the lights and had melted.  Nothing serious.  Which is a good thing, because if you’ll only click ahead to the NEXT page…)
