(Historical Notes: No, I didn’t make this up for comedic effect.  This one hundred percent happened exactly as depicted.  Otaku have absolutely sense of self preservation… which explains an awful lot about what we choose to do with our lives.  And no, this isn’t the first time I’ve seen this kind of thing happen.  I can’t take you people anywhere.

On a less finger-waging note, I do wanna say I’m quite pleased at how the smoke effect turned out on these pages.  This one in particular DOES crank it up a bit thicker than it actually appeared at the time, so I guess this page isn’t ENTIRELY depicting things as they happened, but nevertheless this was one of my first attempts at this kind of transparent cloud effect.  It absolutely turned out a LOT better than any attempt at a hand-drawn cloud would have.  Thank you, stock images of the internet!)
