Just in case anybody though I was exaggerating about this.
Also, lest anybody fear this is going to turn into a repeat of the Cosplay America fiasco, I really DID enter the actual convention and do stuff. Eventually. It’s like getting into a cold pool, sometimes a guy’s just gotta inch in a little bit at a time.
And yes, any youngsters looking for convention tips, I still maintain that one of the BEST things you can do is bring a cooler full of food with you. Even if you don’t have a hotel room, it’ll still be cheaper than whatever the on-site eating options are.
That’s probably pretty good advice almost anywhere you go – bring your own food – trapped audience of customers = insanely high price + low quality. It’s the entire concept Airport food courts are founded on.
