This is especially fun when you plan on leaving for the con at around 3 am. Then again, the delay depicted here DID mean a brief but MUCH needed nap while we waited, so that’s good.
(Historical Notes: I’d make another “This is why I travel alone now” joke, but the ability to take a nap either before or during the drive honestly IS a compelling counter-argument)
It’s easier to herd cats than it is to get a group of people traveling together for a con on time. Or at least what my selfish self demanded on time be back then. Bleh.
The idea was always “if we leave now, we’ll avoid the traffic in DC, but this was generally a futile effort cause 300+ miles of interstate isn’t going to ever bend to my will.
Hey, it still makes more sense than some goofball insisting on trying to beat the traffic into Atlanta AMIRITE?
