But yeah, it was officially announced over the weekend that AWA was, indeed, moving out of the Galleria and down to Atlanta proper next year (and also, apparently, moving to a December date, which pretty much guarantees that there WON’T be any AWA 2024 comics). I totally understand the need for the con to get into a different, bigger establishment… and believe you me, we WILL be discussing some of those causes in later pages, but it’s still a bit sad to me personally.
Speaking of which, I was also a bit bummed that they DIDN’T have the game room in the mall by the theater this year. To again quote Past Me, I always got a kick out of them setting up the games in the actual spot where the Galleria’s old arcade used to be. Granted, I also understand that using the theater lobby for Registration was probably a MUCH more practical use for that space, but still…
