Conventional Wisdom

(Historical Notes: Is this the first time I tried substituting my own fictional properties in place of real, actual anime?  I think it may be.  Funny that I’d first try it on a page where the whole joke hinges on a real, actual anime.  Also, most of this stuff is just pre-existing Far Out There are and Conventional Wisdom in-jokes.  The endless flood of imaginary shows had hardly even BEGUN to flow forth at this point.  Also, I’m just gonna come right out and admit that I ABSOLUTELY followed behind these Eva cosplayers down, like, half the Dealer’s side of the room because I knew they were heading towards a big display of Asuka lewdness and I wanted to see how this girl would react.  I counter any charges of creepiness by pointing out that I’m not the one who made any Asuka body pillows in the first place.  Also, half the reason I experimented with changing the art in this photo is because the REAL Asuka pillows were significantly lewder than this, and I wanted to replace them with something a bit more all-audiences.  Doing so arguably made the punchline less funny, but… um… dang it, I just admitted to willfully making the comic less funny than it could have been.)
