This sort of confrontation never actually happened, but I always feel like it whenever anyone tries to give money anyway.

See, here’s the thing: the face painting isn’t just free because I’m such an altruistic guy, it’s ‘cos that’s the only way I can do it. If I’m not an official part of the Dealer’s Room or Artist’s Alley, I’d be breaking the rules if I charged to anything. Hence, the whole “oh, it’s just a tip” thing makes me all kinds of uncomfortable, even if I do appreciate it.

I WAS given candy this year, though, that ruled.
