Seriously, though, I do NOT understand what the aesthetic theme of that hotel is supposed to be.  Most of the place is just generic sterile modern public places design, then randomly there’ll be a spot with these funky abstract polygon shapes as art instillation that TOTALLY don’t match the rest of the vibe.  It’s like somebody was using some sort of VR model to design the place, but the graphics glitched out in a few spots, and they just built it like that anyway.  Really weird.

But this is the sort of stuff my mind wanders off to when spend most of the day sitting around taking notes and drawing pictures.  Seriously, the overwhelming bulk of my planned weekend activity was for Friday, so I spent most of Saturday just getting a head start on drawing comics.  I know that SEEMS like the absolute opposite of “procrastination,” but you also need to remember that part of the reason I don’t normally draw stuff DURING the con anymore is because I can’t know the full arc of the weekend until everything’s actually finished.  I just took for granted that I already knew what the overall pattern of the weekend had shaped up to be at that point, and started drawing material to fit that.  And wouldn’t you know, a LOT of that material wound up being either not used or significantly repurposed, because it turns out I didn’t know the full arc of the weekend at ALL…
