I mean, I’m pretty sure those boxes were ACTUALLY what all the Game Room stuff had been hauled up in, so it’s not like I was ACTUALLY sitting next to a pile of old diapers.  But still, I know my place.

Also, it wound up not coming across in the final draft of the comic, but I’d honestly forgotten just how MASSIVE some of the rooms in the Washington Convention Center really are.  This one space had ALL of the Game Room stuff, both the video games and all the tabletop stuff, AND a massive seating area for a restaurant, and there were STILL huge stretches of space to the side that were just barren.  As in, “just toss the empty boxes in that corner and it won’t be in anybody’s way” empty.  I think about other cons where literally every inch of floor is being used for something, the kind of situation where a person can’t even sit down in most spots without causing a fire hazard, and the reality that even an event as big as Otakon could still have THIS many empty corners is just mind boggling.
