See, this is why my whole “come by the hotel lobby and I’ll sell you a print” scheme never would have worked. YOU DO NOT FIND OTHER PEOPLE AT OTAKON. It simply doesn’t happen. Heck, I barely saw the people I shared a room with all weekend. The overwhelming majority of the interaction I had with my friends at Otakon was through phones, ‘cos there was no chance of ever actually bumping into them.

(Historical Notes: You know, for somebody who held off on the whole smartphone thing, it really is amazing how quickly they became indefensible to me in a convention setting… and I still say conventions owe me an apology.)
