Ichibancon had this big swap meet thing in the largest event hall all Sunday, where all the civilian randos could camp out and sell their old stuff without having to be a full-on store in the Dealer’s Room.  The thought occurred as I browsed through that I really can’t imagine selling off most of the stuff in my otaku collection… but that’s partially because I never buy as much as most people I know.  I’ve been around this scene long enough to have seen a lot of my pals walk a way from a convention with bags full of swag, then sell every one of those things because they needed some cash years later.  Once might almost suggest they didn’t need it in the first place.  Or, at the very least, one could argue that’d it’s better to only spend money on something you’re sure you’ll still want years down the line, rather than something you only want in the heat of the moment.  But then, if Miffy hears me slagging off the concept of impulse buying, she’ll send her Dealer’s Room goons after me, so I’ll shut up.

Oh, by the way: if you’re struggling to recognize any of these things the kids are holding, don’t bother.  They’re more examples of the fictional anime I started making up to use for ConCONcon.  One of these days I’m gonna set up a wiki to explain just what all these various shows actually are, like an in-universe primer that one ConCONcon staffer wrote because the rest of the staff were too out of touch with the new shows.  In the meantime, this stuff is just weird filler so that I’m not actually saying any REAL anime are lame.
