…aaaaaand the grand experiment of changing The Kids design ends with a sudden return to the Status Quo. LAME, SOMEONE ALERT TVTROPES.

But seriously, aside from the fact that the cosplayer demographics this weekend weren’t quite what I’d feared, I realized something stupidly obvious: these kids don’t work as a recurring joke if you don’t recognize who they are, and you can’t recognize them if I keep changing what they look like. Still, you never know. I might try this again at some point, if I ever feel like weirding everyone out again.

Anyway, hope you enjoyed the Ichibancon 2016 comics! Sorry it took so long, but that’s what happens when I go to a con right after a SEVERELY over-worked December (seriously, I’ve gotta get an earlier start on that stuff next year). Of course, the best part is THE ICHIBANCON COMICS AREN’T DONE YET! There’s gonna be even more comics posted on Patreon in a week! Sound good? Sure it does! And you can read ’em all for as little as One Dollar A Month! What a single dollar a month in exchange for a constant stream of geeky webcomic goodness? And if you need further encouragement, check out the Patreon Gallery and see some of the previous comics that the paying customers have been enjoying all this time.

In the meantime, now that this update is FINALLY done, I can afford to kick back and… get right to work on today’s Far Out There update. No rest for the weary, right?

(Historical Notes: At this point, I honestly can’t remember if I seriously thought I could have The Kids changing costumes as a regular thing and only changed my mind after trying it, or if I was just playing up an idea I’d already decided against as a way of filling out the comics.  But yeah, four years on and I haven’t tried anything more drastic than sticking them in ConCONcon shirts for a bit.  I can’t imagine the experiment will ever be tried again, aside from maybe seeing them in street clothes before they suit up.  That could probably work as a one-off.  Oh, and by the way, I tagged the new costumes they’re wearing as ‘”cosplay,” but I’ve never actually tagged their normal appearances as such… because it’s never really registered that they’re cosplaying in those other appearances.  This is just how they look, right?)
