Conventional Wisdom

THERE ARE MORE COMICS ABOUT THE ACTUAL CONVENTION COMING, I SWEAR!  But hey, this is still kind of anime related, so it’s still relevant to the overall theme of Conventional Wisdom, right?  RIGHT?

No, but seriously, if you’re an amateur filmmaker in the greater Raleigh area and want some good b-roll of powerlines, head down past the airport and explore the office park behind the Sheraton.  It’s a frickin’ gold mine.

And even setting that aside, I’ve realized this is another thing I like about these smaller, cheaper, more local conventions: I don’t feel bad about screwing around on my own.  When I blow hundreds of dollars on a big con several states away, I’m kind of obligated to stick around and get my money’s worth.  But since I didn’t sink much money into going to Cosplay America, I don’t feel like it’s much of a waste to, ya know, not be there all day.

Admittedly, though, it does come back to bite me when I need to actually draw comics about the con…
