Did I mention how glad I am to be moving away from DC next month?

But yeah, since Anime Boston was also on Memorial Day, I haven’t had a convention since February. It’d been a WHILE, dude, and I really, REALLY needed the break from reality. BAD.

(Historical Notes: Well now you KNOW I’m serious about moving, because Past Me finally started to get brave enough to openly complain about job stuff.  Look, I may have said earlier that I didn’t want to say/do anything that might endanger the future job prospects of anyone working in that restaurant’s kitchen, but that doesn’t mean I can pretend that SOMETHING in that place wasn’t going horribly wrong.  Like, I’ve never worked in another eating establishment, so I hate to act like I know enough to judge what somebody else should or shouldn’t do… but that place was a MESS by the time I left.  It was chronically understaffed, everything was broken, and there was never EVER enough stuff to cover daily operations.  I’m not just talking about having to run across the street to Walgreens mid-shift because they’d run out of ketchup (though that did happen, a lot), I’m talking about having to run down to the neighborhood grocery store minutes before opening because the kitchen hadn’t been re-stocked.  These trained professional chefs at an allegedly nice restaurant were having to rely on the food knowledge of THE FRIGGIN’ BUSBOY because nobody had delivered the supplies they needed to do their job.  It is NOT a fun experience to run one’s self ragged trying to fix a problem that is WAAAAY beyond one’s ability to actually do anything about.)
