Conventional Wisdom

(Historical Notes: This certainly FEELS like the sort of thing that could have just straight up happened right in front of me, and I just drew it as it occurred, but at this point I don’t really remember for sure.  It’s just as possible that I saw that big honkin’ scythe and figured that this sort of thing probably WOULD happen.  It’s a minor detail, but one I’m still annoyed I can’t recall.  I guess Past Me was too busy thinking about Van Quest to retain much about where this particular page came from.  Yet another one of those cases where I REALLY wish I’d managed to save the rest of the original SmackJeeves commentary.  Also, it’s refreshing to see some more red in a comic.  Past Me really got locked into using purple over and over on this set, and it’s REALLY tedious to read through again now.)
