Anime USA 2011 – page 5
I’m not always the most observant person, but even for me, it took a while for me to figure out where this disembodies voice was coming from.
I wasn’t sure if this page needed a caption/punch line/whatever, and even now that it’s too late, I’m wondering if there should have been one. Actually, most of these pages ditch the picture/caption formula of the earlier comics. I wonder why I did THAT?
Oh, one more thing. If this page looks a lot better than the previous few, it’s ‘cos we’ve hit the point where I quit trying to draw them during the con. I doubt I’ll be trying that again any time soon.
(Historical Notes: It’s both sweet and sad that I thought this sad attempt at depicting the Hyatt Regency’s lobby would ever look good enough to be worth remarking on. Also, while this probably isn’t the best thing to admit, the alt text for this one isn’t ENTIRELY a joke. If I’ve been constantly bombarded by enough crowd noise for long enough, my brain starts to interpret ANY muffled, indistinct noise as a person trying to get my attention, even if it’s actually neither of those things. That, or I just shut down and don’t notice anything at all. Neither one is very healthy, really.)
