So, here’s the deal. Something always goes wrong when you don’t expect it, and that makes other things go wrong as a result. This is ESPECIALLY true if you’re trying to run an anime convention. Thursday evening was a little… disorganized (having the Fire Marshal tell you to move your Game Room at the last minute will do that) and one of the problems was a lingering inability to get people their badges. Now, I was a few steps removed from the actual badge getting process, so I don’t know if “two hours from now” was ever the official time frame, but it’s all I ever seemed to hear from the people who DID go bug con ops that night. Eventually, it really did start to feel like a bit of a time loop.

Also, just so you know, Tom Baker’s big ol’ crazy eyes are harder to convey in comic form than you might think.

(Historical Notes: Stuff like this is why a whole generation of congoers believe it’s faster to just register at the door than to pre-reg… which paradoxically is why that doesn’t work any more.  Oh, and that bit about the Fire Marshal kicking the Game Room out of its planned location right at the worst possible moment is totally real.  That probably deserved to be a comic itself.)
