No offense to everyone in Virginia, but the underbelly of your state doesn’t make for a very stimulating drive.

(Historical Note: Of course, it doesn’t help that, given the sheer distance we needed to cover in a single sprint, we had to set out obnoxiously early.  Also, now that I actually do more driving on my own and less ridding in a caravan, I’m actually much more kindly disposed to loooooong empty stretches like Southern Virginia.  Way less stressful than when you get up near DC.  It SUUUUUUUUUCK if you suddenly need a bathroom break down in the nothingness, though.)
