Conventional Wisdom

You see, Animazement has always prided itself on getting more Japanese guests than just about any other east coast convention. Alas, over two-thirds of this year’s guests had to cancel because of Japan’s sky-is-falling reaction to Swine Flu (citizens traveling abroad could potentially be quarantined up to TEN DAYS upon returning)

Thankfully, the evil plot has thus far failed to shake the foundations of anime as we know it.

(Historical Note: Man, this page would look SO different if I drew it now.  Instead of generic bad guy standings, there’d be lots of ACTUAL recognizable bad guys from G.I. Joe and He-Man and the like, all dressed up in stereotypical doctor gear.  That, or it’d be an NWO parody.  And there’d be shadows.  Sooooooo many shadows.)
