BOY I’m glad anime fans are such a visually distinct subculture. It makes it SO easy to spot any gathering… which is especially good for people like me who can get lost going to the bathroom.

But yeah, I successfully made my way across town and checked out the DC Anime Club, which was a bunch of fun. I’m sure when I’ll be able to drop in there again, but odds are good that it’ll end up being documented here.

Which reminds me, ANIMAZEMENT IS NEXT WEEK! HOLY CRAP HOW’D IT GET SO CLOSE I GOTTA GET STUFF DONE AAAAAAAHHHHH!

(Historical Notes: I only ever wound up visiting the club one more time, and it was not, in fact, a terribly memorable event.  Heck, I wound up spending more time checking out Brony meet-ups than any anime stuff.  I’ve since come to realize that “likes sequential images drawn by a Japanese person” is not, on its own, enough to make me want to hang out with a person.  It’s like how I almost never like any anime-related YouTubers that get recommended to me.  Just because I find the subject matter interesting doesn’t mean I in any way want to listen to a given person talk about it.  Also, I don’t know what it is, but I STILL get completely turned around any time I’m in the Chinatown area.  Like, even more than usual.  I always joke about DC being designed to confuse invading armies, but it’s especially true here.)
