The nice thing about going to a con that’s both right here in town and only one day is that there’s a lot less preparation required before going in.  The downside of that, though, is sometimes there’s a certain level of preparation you really need to go ahead and do anyway.  Or, at the very least, a certain level of basic personal care that’s easier to remember the importance of.  When I know I’m about to spend the next six-to-twelve hours on a road trip with a vehicle full of people and a deadline to get where we need to be, I know I’m a lot more conscious of making sure my body ISN’T going to cataclysmicly give out on me when we’re miles deep into some country road.  When the con is just a few city blocks away, it’s a lot easier to be even more irresponsible than usual… and suddenly it’s almost dawn and I’m still over-caffeinated and my digestive system is in rebellion and everything’s awful.

The other question is: is this a better or worse diet than when I go all weekend only eating stuff I could carry with me in a cooler?
