Conventional Wisdom

Apparently the Raleigh Convention Center was extra worried about people getting their costumes caught in the escalators or something, so lowly staffers ended up having to stand right there with warning signs at all times. No, there is no way this made sense. (But hey, it’s still a relatively new convention center, they get kinda touchy about people breaking their toys)

(Historical Notes: On the one hand, at least they didn’t just turn the escalators off.  On the other hand… the escalators DO end up breaking a lot, so maybe they’re on to something there?)
