Satoshi Kon – RIP
This page is going up pretty early, but this is something I didn’t want to drag my feet on. In case you haven’t already heard, Satoshi Kon, director of Perfect Blue, Paprika, and the Paranoia Agent series, just died. Kon was second only to Hayao Miyazaki in the realm of feature-length anime, and his absence will be felt by everyone with any interest in the medium.
(Historical Notes: Dang, this is a depressing bit of history. I guess this is another reason why I’m glad I quit trying to be current and topical, this comic is NOT equipped for getting real at moments like this. If anything, my comics ought to be a place people can go to get AWAY from this kind of thing.)
