Sangawa Project 2026 – page 5
So, I feel like my urge to draw the funniest picture might have gotten in the way of factual accuracy a bit here. And I don’t just mean that there’s clearly more than seven floors in that tower. The whole “waving to attract attention” gag could easily imply that the museum wasn’t getting any visitors due to the high up location, and I don’t actually mean that. Sure, there were a lot fewer people than came through at Animazement or Otakon… but that’s because this was a MUCH smaller convention than either of those, so of COURSE there were fewer people. For an event of this size, thought, I think the turnout was fine. I don’t think there were any fewer people than would have come through if the museum were down on the convention center floor.
HOWEVER, the point here isn’t to talk about the actual number of warm bodies crammed into the room at any given time. I’m talking about the FEEL, and I FELT removed from the action in a way I haven’t in a looooong time. Even with stuff going on in the other office/rooms around us, that whole area felt WAY too quiet and sequestered away to “really” be a part of the convention. I mean, most of the time, I could actually hear myself THINK!
