IT’S FINALLY HAPPENING!  IT’S ACTUALLY REAL! CONVENTIONAL WISDOM IS GOING TO AN ACTUAL ANIME CONVENTION AGAIN! …and it’s not Otakon, is it?  Yeah, sorry to everybody who asked me about that, but traveling up to DC still isn’t in the cards right now.  BUT, I can make the trip down to Charlotte for Queen City Anime Con!  I was actually planning to add this to the list last year before… last year happened, so I guess there’s something appropriate in this being my first convention back.

It’s also my ONLY convention back for the rest of the year, as far as my current plans go (unless I hear some really amazing NC Comicon news soon… or really ANY news).  Also, I’m not doing any panels or anything, just wandering around to take pictures and notes.  So if you’re reading this at any point during the weekend, keep an eye on the various social medias for pictures and other silliness (you never know, I just MIGHT have some free stuff to give away to the first people who ask!), and then keep checking back here for ACTUAL WEBCOMICS ABOUT A REAL ACTUAL NON-FICTIONAL ANIME CONVENTION AGAIN!

And if you haven’t heard all the other times I explained it, here’s a few things to keep in mind about Conventional Wisdom going forward: I’m really trying to focus more of my energy into those fictional ConCONcon comics now, so these Actual Real Life comics won’t be anywhere near as long as they used to be.  No more sprawling, 50-page epics like I used to do for Otakon or MAGFest.  I’m not anticipating doing more than a dozen pages on this con (plus a few extra Patreon exclusives, obviously).  Oh, I’ll still be taking as many notes as I always do, but most of that stuff will be saved as fodder for the second batch of ConCONcon 2021 that’ll start up once THESE comics finish.  You know, the generic “conventions be cray cray” stuff.  The only material to be used in the Queen City set will be stuff that absolutely would not make sense in any context other than this specific weekend.  Like, say, any and all pandemic jokes.  So we’ve all got THAT to look forward to.

But yeah, CONVENTIONAL WISDOM IS BACK, BABY!
