Ichibancon 2020 – page 3
I was really surprised when I discovered that Ichibancon HADN’T changed locations since the last time I went, because it definitely felt like the convention was getting way too big for that hotel. Strangely, it didn’t actually feel anywhere near as crowded inside… strange because it felt SUBSTANTIALLY more crowded in the parking lot. Seriously, at peak hours I don’t think there was a single curb in that whole complex that didn’t have a car parked in front of it, whether there was supposed to be or not. It was a little scary, to be honest. If that entire weekend passed without a single car getting sideswiped, that’s a miracle. honestly, I don’t thin I’d have been able to find spaces all weekend if I hadn’t… well, let’s not get ahead of ourselves…
Anyone remember that cracks in the mountain manga?
“THIS PARKING SPOT IS MINE! IT WAS MADE FOR ME!”
Reminds me of my friend having to park at Katsucon when it was at Crystal City. We would quote that line from The Simpsons, “Okay. EVERYONE OUT THE WINDOW!”
Oh man, I’d totally shut out my memories of parking in Crystal City. I think my friends started permanently parking down in Alexandria and riding the Metro in for DC cons after that.
