THAT’S NOT THE COSTUME THE KIDS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE WEARING! WHAT IS THIS? I DON’T LIKE CHANGE! GAAAAAAAH!!!

Okay, here’s the deal: back when these kids first appeared in the comic a few years ago, part of the joke was that they were dressed up as some of the most popular cosplay choices I saw running around that year. Problem is, as any old person will tell you, whatever’s “popular with the kids” changes pretty quickly, and I started to wonder if it still made sense to have these three in the same cosplay I gave them several years ago. Thus, I decided to try an experiment this update & dress them up as three NEW things that I don’t care about! (I kid, I kid, I do love Gravity Falls)

(…and yes, they’ve always been one boy and two girls. Adjust your fanfics accordingly)

(Historical Notes: Oh WOW this little experiment feels weird too look back at, and I don’t just mean putting Those Kids into different costumes.  The very act of imposing a fictional “storyline” onto the comics rather than finding a connecting thread through the existing material just feels strange.  I guess you could say it was an early form of what ConCONcon ended up becoming.  Also, how funny is it seeing colored-in CHARACTERS in front of a black and white BACKGROUND?  It’s like Bizzaro World Conventional Wisdom!)
