Second weekend in a row spent hanging out with somebody from North Carolina (and it’s happening AGAIN this coming weekend)

For the record, this was a real place, and it’s one of, like, three places in all of Chinatown that actually has anything to do with China. Seriously, it’s sad…

(Historical Notes: Washington DC’s “Chinatown” basically exists because they named a Metro station after it.  I mean, yes, there WAS a heavy concentration of Chinese immigrants at that location once, but by this point those population centers have long since shifted down to places like Alexandria.  Still, this is the official, government-mandated spot on the map with “HERE BE ASIANS” scribbled on it, and The Machine is too big to move even after it’s reason for being is gone, so Chinatown is still Chinatown and all the business have to have Chinese lettering on their signs to keep the theming intact.  We did not, for the record, but any swords that day, but that was one of my go-to places to get ramen bowls for a while.)
