Hahahaha what a fun and delightful Halloween comic that’s totally lighthearted and silly and didn’t at all get way too real at the end!

And if you’re wondering what I’m doing making such elaborate filler when the AWA comics still aren’t done, just you wait.  When they’re finally out, you’ll realize “making the same poor life choices over and over” was an EXTREMELY relevant thing to bring up.

(Historical Notes: That’s Past Me gently hinting at the whole “sleeping in the van” disaster, in case you couldn’t put it together.  Not that I wasn’t thinking all this stuff well before that, mind you, but you can just go read those comics for the full story there.  Rather, let’s talk about the crazy logistics of this page.  Again, this originally went up on tumblr, and as a result my “master copy” is actually two separate image files.  In fact, I think part of the reason Past Me never got around to re-posting THIS one to SmackJeeves is because the sheer length of the thing might have broken the page layout.  Of course, I think a page like this is a lot more meaningful when posted on tumblr, seeing as how that’s one of the most concentrated hubs of regrettable cringe on the whole internet.  Speaking of which, there’s some chronological confusion in depicting Those Kids as even knowing what a “Xanga” is, since they’re perpetually supposed to be the representation of whatever the young generation is like right now.  But the whole point of the comic is supposed to be that today’s trendiness is tomorrow’s dated garbage, so it kind of works in a meta sense.  Besides, even if I HAD tried to write this comic in a way that’d be full of current 2018 references, it’d already be painfully out of date by the time I re-posted it in 2022, so I might as well just stick to examples that I personally remember from my own experience.  In the end, that’s all I really know anyway.)
