Conventional Wisdom

Yeah, I REALLY prefer to have a hotel room at the convention, even if it’s more expensive. The only reason I left the MAGFest concert early was because I needed that much extra time to get home and sleep, and I needed extra sleep because I’d have to get up extra early to get my costume into shape, which I had to do at the very start of the day because, again, I had to drive there.

And seriously, I don’t care what hotel or convention center or whatever your at: the on-site concessions are NEVER worth it.

(Historical Notes: Oh, Past Me, you have NOOOOO idea how much of that you’ll be taking back in the future.  I mean, to be fair to Past Me, I REEEAAALLY didn’t know what I was doing here.  I was still so used to staying in hotels at this point that I just didn’t realize HOW to properly commute yet, both in terms of time management and properly setting up the van as a supply post.  All these complaints are totally valid in terms of what I was doing that weekend, but it was a failure of execution rather than concept.  Just you wait.)
