The Hyatt Regency always has space problems, and the Dealer Room seems to suffer the worst for it every year (what, you though we’d go a whole batch of comics without be complaining about the place?) This year was probably the best I’ve seen the Independence Center used, but it was still a weird combination of winding and cramped.

But here’s the best part: we wandered around and around this maze looking for someone who wasn’t even IN the Dealer Room at the time. Brilliant.

(Historical Notes: I don’t think I properly explained just was a strange situation the Dealer’s Room presented in the Hyatt.  As I’ve mentioned elsewhere, this convention center was very cramped and stacked on top of itself, trying to utilize as much of its limited floor space as possible.  As a result, the big exhibition hall were the Dealer’s Room set up really did have a lot of space… in the BACK.  you had to squeeze through a really narrow entrance area to get to any of it, though.  As a result, a lot of the Dealer’s Room consisted of halls where you were only allowed to go one way, and those halls folded back on themselves a lot in order to squeeze as many tables into as few rooms as possible.  The result was a room where you didn’t so much have to worry about losing track of where you were, like at Okaton, but you could EASILY  lose track of how to get from that point to anyplace else.)
