YES, I FINALLY STARTED THAT PATREON I WAS ALWAYS TALKING ABOUT! Now I can finally shut up about the thing and get back to JUST KIDDING, I’M GONNA BE HYPING THE CRAP OUT OF THIS THING UNTIL YOU’LL DESPERATELY GIVE ME MONEY JUST TO SHUT ME UP!
But seriously, aside from actually allowing me to not be starving & broke, AND ALSO allowing me to cover even more conventions in the future, if you pledge sweet money you’ll get access to all sorts of extra comics WAY before everybody else! Including a weekly series where I watch a whole bunch of anime draw comics about them. Pledge enough, and you can even help pick the anime I watch! That’s a thing people like to do, right?
But yeah, there’s a Patreon now.
(Historical Notes: OOOOoooh boy, a certain, dedicated number of people have heard a LOT about this over the past year or so. Click around just about any of the Conventional Wisdom social media outlets and there’s a multiple blog posts detailing all ways in which I horrifically burned myself out trying to produce too much Patreon content on top of everything else I was already doing. Since I’ve already said everything there is to say REPEATEDLY on those, I’ll just address the one specific item mentioned above: the “weekly anime comics.” First off, those things stopped being “weekly” within a few months of the Patreon going live, and as I write this in mid-2020, they’ve been on hiatus completely. It’s actually kinda funny that this page came up in the re-posts just as I’ve been trying to get serious about revamping the Patreon in general. I wish I could say what the Patreon 2.0 will actually look like, if I’ll bring back the anime comics at all or what the new way of choosing them will be if I do, but I still haven’t worked that out right now. Maybe Future Me will come back and add a link to an explanation of what the new Patreon rewards will be after Present Me finally figures that out?)
