Otakon 2025 – page 5
Yeah, on top of all the video format exhibits we had on display in the Museum room, we ALSO had a turntable set up to spin everybody’s various anime soundtracks and random Japanese vinyl. Just because. Hey, if some convention gave YOU full reign over a room, tell me you WOULDN’T take every chance to abuse that control. Also, I amazingly wound up having the LEAST amount of vinyl to spin over the weekend, despite what previous events might lead someone to assume.
And while this isn’t the sort of thing that would really come across in comic form, I do want to take a moment to acknowledge just how intense the sensory overload in that room actually was, with so many TVs AND a stereo all making noise at the same time. Like, it wasn’t actually that LOUD, in terms of sheer volume, but it wasn’t until we turned everything off at the end of the day that I truly realized just how much sound I’d been surrounded by all day. Of course, this IS a major anime convention we’re talking about, so it’s not like being surrounded by noise on all sides wasn’t going to happen anyway.
