Gee, it’s almost as if this format wasn’t around for too long or something.
But seriously, in all fairness, you mileage will probably vary regarding these things. I know that SOME people said they worked great, even as others insisted they didn’t work at all. Also, I really need to stress that my own personal track record with 3D glasses of any sort is really spotty. I can see depth effects, the illusion of things in the image being farther away, totally fine; but any time something tries to do the classic Object-Jumping-Off-The-Screen-Right-In-Your-Face effect, then 3D just becomes a “crossed-eyes simulator” as far as I’m concerned.
Also, this is an absolutely TERRIBLE representation of what the VHD glasses even look like. There’s actually this plastic circle that extends around your head, but that would have made it REALLY difficult to draw a bunch of characters who all wear distinctive hats.
