Anime Weekend Atlanta 2018 – page 29
(Historical Notes: I… genuinely have no idea why this page is at the very end of the set and not the previous one. I mean, this page HAS to have been finished before page 28 in order for me to copy/paste it into that one, right? And what’s more, I just think the blatant Patreon and merch plug works a lot better at the end than the page right BEFORE the end, even if it is too long-winded. Still, this page does take on a new layer of meaning now that my reluctance to deal with AWA 2018 has meant the comics took a long time to make it to the web TWICE. Heck, the delay between the Otakon re-posts and these is probably longer than it took to draw them in the first place. Is it any wonder I haven’t made it back down to AWA after this? Yup, this is another unintentional final chapter to a convention, and given the logistical difficulties of getting back down to Atlanta again, the odds are even greater against me adding it back to the schedule anytime soon. Too bad, I do still miss the nostalgia rush I got from wandering around the Cobb Galleria’s dead mall halls.
Just tacking this on at the last minute: while this weekend is pretty much my guaranteed answer for “What’s your worst con memory?” I do want to make clear that it’s all ONE HUNDRED PERCENT on me. AWA 2018 wasn’t the worst con ever or anything like that, I just screwed up my time there. It’s nobody else’s fault that I spent a weekend sweating and sleep-deprived in a metal box that smelled like damp laundry.)
