NC Comicon 2019 – page 4
I exaggerate for comedic effect. It’s an exaggeration. Totally exaggerated. I’m not protesting too much at all.
But seriously, the ACTUAL reason I don’t bother going to webcomics panels anymore is because, in all honestly, there’s not really anything anybody can tell me that I haven’t already hear. At least, in that context. Obviously, there’s LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS I don’t know about putting drawing on computers, but it’s not the sort of thing that can come up in a mass panel discussion setting like this. All these sorts of panels can tall about is, as the title suggests, the basic beginner stuff. And if there’s any important lessons there I haven’t already learned, hearing it one more time isn’t gonna change anything. Also, even if I didn’t go off on a bitter old man rant in real life, aspiring young artists should still never have to look at me and see the horrifying final result of following their hopes and dreams.
On that note, there’s something morbidly appropriate that this, of all things, wound up being the final comic I ever posted on Old SmackJeeves. I’m pretty sure all the Far Out There stuff that kept updating afterwards was loaded before everything went offline for the overhaul. And, well, we all see how THAT turned out. At this point, I’m not even sure if I’ll bother mirroring any future posts over there or just dive straight into posting here full time. I definitely can’t fit full-sized rants like this into the new comment size restrictions. Then again, my main focus right now is on getting all my archives of old stuff ported over to the new sites, so I don’t even know when the next comic will BE. Keep watching the social medias (Twitter Facebook Instagram Tumblr) or blitzthecomicguy.com for news as I try to figure this stuff out for myself.
