Conventional Wisdom

You know those electronic neko-ears people wear? The ones with the motors what make them move according to the wearer’s brain waves? Yeah, those were oddly popular with the people who carried stuff around. I have no idea what the deeper meaning of this is.

(Historical Notes: Wow, this reads a LOT differently here in the future, where we know that this was actually the final Escapist Expo.  The Escapist would go on to have… other things to worry about in the future besides than running their own convention, so what was once meant as sarcastic actually has some genuine weight to it now.  Of course, there WAS an attempt to introduce something different in its place the following year.  And oh boy, THAT’S gonna be something to talk about…)
