Conventional Wisdom

Okay, so here’s the deal: the Raleigh Convention Center has it’s loading area tucked away underground, so that you have to go through this whole rigamarole of driving behind the amphitheater across the street in order to get into it.  Thus, they have to regulate who comes through even more than a facility like this would normally do, just to avoid the vehicles piling up on top of each other in such limited space.  AT LEAST, THAT’S WHAT THEY DID ON THURSDAY.  For whatever reason, while Thursday had strictly scheduled times when everyone would be allowed in, Sunday was a first-come, first-serve free-for-all.  And since everyone was trying to clear out their booths all at once, that resulted in a LOT of vehicles backed up for SEVERAL blocks waiting to be let in.  And yes, they were moving slowly enough for me to get out and take pictures like it wasn’t even a thing.  I’m not even joking, we didn’t manage to get the car inside to even START packing up until after Closing Ceremonies was already over.  And there were even more cars lined up outside when we left than there had been when we started.  Terrible traffic in downtown Raleigh is nothing new to me, but this specific breed of it was definitely unique.

But anyway, THAT’S IT FOR ANIMAZEMENT 2026!  …sort of!  Yes, as usual, there’s even more content that didn’t make it in to this set of comics.  I needed to go ahead and wrap things up so that I’d have time/energy to get ready for Otakon.  So expect to see some leftover Animazement stuff over on Patreon in the future.  And speaking of which, OTAKON 2026 IS NEXT WEEK!  So be sure to keep checking back here for more on that!
