Conventional Wisdom

For several years now, I’ve done free face painting at Animazement. At first, it was just something to kill time while helping run a video room, but I’ve kept on doing it just for fun. The ironic thing is how many people simply can’t grasp the fact that I’m NOT asking for money. It’s like a foreign concept to some folks!

(Historical Notes: It’s really, REALLY weird for me to see any reference to me doing the face painting in these comics, or doing it at the new convention center.  This was the last year where I did it, and it was only barely for a single afternoon.  All of my lasting memories about the face painting are from Animazement’s years at the Sheraton, so seeing evidence that it ever happened in Raleigh is like some weird alternate universe artifact.)
