This is slightly exaggerated for comedy’s sake, but the general sentiment’s plenty accurate. Yep, I’m looking to move up to DC next month. This is the… *counts* third time in my life I’ve changed permanent residence, so I’m just a little bit intimidated by the idea. But then, I’ve been wanting to get out of the suburbs for years now, and hopefully being in DC will allow me to cover some extra conventions (I’m lookin’ at YOU, MagFest) so it’s not like I’m not excited, too. Oh, and just so you know, I still fully intent to cover Animazement this year. No amount of moving will keep ME away!

And yes, I’m fully aware that I really have no right to complain about hanging out at conventions and drawing cartoons for the internet as if it’s actual WORK. It’s more of a pacing thing. I prefer life to happen in small, intense doses with long boring stretches in between. This whole “things happening all the time, like any normal person’s life” this is just tiring.

Speaking of which, this page is a lot rougher than I would have liked (which isn’t saying much, I know) because I’ve been wrestling with my computer all day. Apparently, it’s decided that IT needs breaks too, and has started shutting down randomly if I’m on the internet too long. Figures, huh?

(Historical Notes: IT BEGINS.  The long, sad, frustrating tale of my time in Washington DC starts up here, so you can all look forward to a loooooooooot of jaded, cynical commentary about how everything went wrong down here.  I’m sure you’re all thrilled.)
