Conventional Wisdom

(Historical Notes: I have photographic evidence that this happened, and it hasn’t gotten any better in the years since.  Seriously, my comic book collection is, like, ten percent legitimately classic stuff that I own because it’s genuinely good, and ninety percent stupid crap I only own ironically.  At least with my anime collection, it’s more of an even split.  But yeah, this really was pretty much the extent of the “convention” for most of the day.)
