Otakon 2008 – page 4
It’s kind of a continuation of Murphy’s Law. Don’t act like this hasn’t happened to you.
(Historical Note: This was the one page out of that first batch of comics that really got a lot of “Oh, I know EXACTLY what that’s like!” feedback. Of course, it didn’t help that this was honestly one of the most crowded hotels rooms I EVER stayed in.)
I still shudder to this day remembering that room. Loved that I got screwed over out of my original hotel booking and had to end up with a hotel that was not only farther away but more expensive too. Between the Omni in DC and the Baltimore Raddison, I never want to stay in a “historic building” hotel again.
Not pictured: Our lovely room view of the windowless wall of the building beside the hotel and the destroyed patio area in-between that I guess was being renovated at the time.
If I were going back and doing new comics on old cons, I’d try to do something more about that room. Even just the furniture and the placement thereof seemed deliberately planned out to be as inconvenient and impractical as possible.
