OH MY GLOB, GUYS, FLASH GORDON IS EVEN MORE GLORIOUS ON THE BIG SCREEN.

The con had kinda-sorta-connected film festival going on at the same time, and buying a con pass got you some free movie tickets. Aside from Flash Gordon, I also saw Nausicaa (which, I think goes without saying, could only have benefited from Queen songs as well)

(Historical Notes: Well, THIS aspect of NC Comicon certainly didn’t change over the years.  I absolutely prefer the Carolina Theatre’s film festival over the actual convention proper)
